WHICH IS THE BEST SEASON TO VISIT PLAYA DEL CARMEN?

WINTER (December to February)
Although this beginning of 2018 has been a little colder than normal and with unexpected rains, this quarter is definitely the best to travel to Playa del Carmen, especially if you are not used to humidity and high temperatures.
As we mentioned before, during this season temperatures drop compared to the rest of the year, the sky clears and the water is warm, perfect for swimming. Humidity and rains are generally low in this period.
If you are from a place where the cold predominates, this is probably the perfect opportunity to stop wearing a jacket.

SPRING (March to May)
By the beginning of March, temperatures are starting to rise, so in April you will be able to throw yourself on the beach to get that envy tan that you dream so much to get when you travel to the Caribbean.
It is important to mention that in April, what would be considered “Rain season” begins, which reaches its maximum presence in July-August, so you have to be prepared for any surprise appearance.

SUMMER (June to August)
This is the time in which the Summer is present and the temperatures rise in a significant way, mainly in mid July and August. Playa del Carmen is quite busy for vacationers and of course the beaches are bursting with people taking their deserved sun bath.
Due to the heat and the great amount of humidity present in the air, this season is considered “rainy season” as we mentioned previously. The rain can appear by surprise, usually they are for short periods of time, besides it gets to cool the day, however, that is a sign that the heat will appear again before what we think.
During this season, if you are not used to the heat, you should take certain precautions such as:

• Keep Hydrated
• Use sunscreen
• Use shoes. This is quite important since for the same reason that Playa del Carmen can be a quite relaxed destination and the use of shoes is “not necessary”, in summer this can become an odyssey, even on the beach as the sand gets very hot.

FALL (September to November)
A bit like December-February, in these months the temperatures begin to fall as the city becomes a little calmer, so once again, if you are one of those travelers who enjoy not so crowded spaces, it is the ideal time to fall in love with Playa del Carmen.
In this time, the temperatures during the day are warm but quite bearable and the nights are beautifully cool with clear and starry skies.
